Oxford group progressing fast in development of Coronavirus vaccine

NY Times article report on progress of an Oxford group, one of many rapidly developing potential SARS-CoV-2 vaccines.

Their results were validated in non-human primates (monkeys), the closest animal model to humans, and they are commencing trials of >6000 humans by the end of May.

They suggest if all goes well, with emergency approval by regulators, they could have the first few million doses available by September.

Given the single-mindedness of scientists and regulators around the world to develop vaccines, I am hopeful that with positive results we can roll out vaccines long before the 12-18 month minimum timeline many experts have cited. War-time science.
